The goal of the project is to develop an effective network in the territories of local development groups – “Jūras Zeme”, “Zied Zeme”, “Pierīgas Partnerības”, by using good practices and experience exchange. Additional objectives of the project is to identify the possibilities of creating added value in rural regions and experience exchange to encourage entrepreneurs and social partners to use already implemented digital technology solutions in day-to-day activities.

Smart villages are rural region communities that develop and solve problems based on their strong competencies, values, characteristics and actively use original solutions, digital communication technologies, innovations and knowledge. Smart village is not a result, it is a method and process how a local community can improve economy and quality of life.
