On July 1, 2025, the first public strategy seminar will take place in Ādaži to engage local stakeholders in shaping the development of the Gauja area from Murjāņi till the sea. The seminar is part of an international cooperation effort that will result in a joint strategy for the Emajõgi and Gauja rivers of which are scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
The aim of the strategic planning is to foster sustainable socio-economic development in the region. The process focuses on improving the use of natural resources, heritage, and economic potential. Thematic priorities include tourism, the environment, and access to water – including harbours, piers, and shoreline infrastructure. The strategies are informed by previous development plans, policies, and stakeholder discussions to ensure continuity and alignment with community needs.
