A European Commission study on the achievements of Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) in fisheries, coastal areas and communities has been published.
The study confirms that the CLLD approach:

  • strengthens local community participation and cooperation,

  • creates and preserves jobs in coastal areas,

  • supports local entrepreneurs and new initiatives,

  • promotes sustainable fisheries and environmental protection,

  • brings European Union policies closer to citizens at the local level.

The study shows that investments based on local people’s knowledge and needs deliver real and long-term benefits for the development of coastal areas. https://oceans-and-fisheries.ec.europa.eu/publications/clld-fisheries-and-coastal-communities-achievements-and-lessons_en
