Under the leadership of the Tartu County Development Association and in cooperation with partners,
a new strategic development vision has been completed for the Võrtsjärv–Emajõgi–Peipus (VEP) water
area. The vision is based on two comprehensive strategy documents – one focusing on the
development of the Võrtsjärv–Emajõgi–Peipus area and the other on the development of the
Emajõgi–Gauja river areas in order to strengthen cross-border cooperation with Latvia.
